Ravindra Jadeja puts up advertisement on his official Facebook page

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been in the headlines constantly for his impressive charisma. However, Jadeja’s name came into the limelight recently when a usual post was seen on his official Facebook Page. The post was for an advertisement stating that a building up for lease or rent. “Kuber avenue, Jamnagar 1st floor available for lease/rent, 6040sq carpet” was the address and required information about the house.

What strikes as a surprise is why would a cricketer of Jadeja’s stature require a social networking site to give advertisement for leasing space and what does this signify. It was not taken in the right taste by many fans who then trolled him mercilessly on social media. It is still unknown whether the post was a mistake or if it was intended. It could have either an error on the part of his management team or can be a malfunction.

Jadeja has not been a part of the team in the limited-overs format as wrist spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have done a tremendous job in the ongoing tour of Australia and were instrumental in helping Team India cruise to a 4-1 series win. The 28-year-old left-hander was not included in the original squad as the selectors had decided to rest Ashwin and Jadeja who had been playing constant cricket. He was brought back when Axar Patel was injured but wasn’t part of the playing XI in any of the matches.

Meanwhile, Jadeja is expected to be back in action when Sri Lanka travels here for a Test series and the left-arm spinner will be looking to regain his numero uno position in the ICC Test Rankings for bowlers. Despite his success in longest format, it will be tough for both Ashwin and Jadeja to force their way back into the limited-overs teams especially after the success of Kuldeep and Chahal.
