India has been under lockdown since March 24 due to COVID-19 outbreak. So far, the lockdown has been extended twice after observing the increase in the number of coronavirus cases in the country. And now, Ravindra Jadeja, the prolific Indian all-rounder has come out and requested everyone to play their part in the fight against the novel virus.

It is not hidden that the coronavirus pandemic has made conditions from bad to worse across the globe. Unfortunately, most industries including sports have come down to a standstill. So far, the life-threatening virus has taken more than 2,600 lives in India.

At present, there are 51,100 positive cases in the country and the number is consistently increasing with every passing day. Surprisingly, the same is happening across the world in majority of the countries.

This is the reason that forced the government to extend the lockdown twice in the last couple of months. At the moment, it is expected to end on May 17 but chances are quite high that the government further extends the lockdown.

There is still a long way to go in COVID-19 battle: Ravindra Jadeja

It looks like all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also feels the same by looking at his recent social media activity. The 31-year-old took to his official Twitter handle and shared a clip in which he can be spotted playing a stroke with the bat. Afterwards, he performed his sword celebration and said that he is staying at home to fight against COVID-19.

Jadeja also gave a caption to his post that read, “There is still a long way to go in this battle against COVID-19. We all got to do our part by staying home to help save lives.”

The Indian all-rounder made wholeheartedly requests to everyone through his caption that everyone will have to play their part if they want to get rid of the COVID-19 debacle.

If the conditions were normal, then Jadeja would have been playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 13the edition of the Indian Premier League at this time. However, BCCI suspended the tournament for an indefinite period in the wake of the pandemic.
