Ravindra Jadeja slams a double century in Ranji Trophy
Jadeja looked in great touch with the bat and would now love to pick wickets with the ball.
Ravindra Jadeja, the Indian all-rounder, has scored a scintillating double century against Jammu Kashmir in the ongoing Ranji trophy season on Sunday. Interestingly, the performance from the left-hander has come after the selectors had snubbed him from the ODI squad for the New Zealand series yet again. He is the key player for Virat Kohli led side in the longest format and this knock would surely make him feel confident for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka.
Jadeja hasn’t donned the blue jersey in the limited overs format since July along with R Ashwin. Both were tested initially from Sri Lanka series but with the success of the wrist spinners, the selectors have continued to keep them away from the ODI team. Though it remains to be seen if the performances in the domestic season would earn them a place in the side now.
Jaddu rocks for Saurashtra
Ravindra Jadeja came into bat when his team was in trouble after opting to bat first at 59/3. But he formed a marathon partnership of 281 runs in 51 overs with Sheldon Jackson and bailed his team out from a precarious position. After the fall of Jackson, he took the complete control of the innings and smashed a wonderful double century which allowed his team to score a mammoth total of 624 in 135 overs at the run rate of 4.62.
Jaddu was dismissed on 201 off just 313 deliveries and his knock was studded with 23 fours and a couple of gigantic hits. He has already played some crucial innings for the Indian team in Test matches. Now he would also love to pick wickets with the ball in hand and prove his all-round prowess. He has already picked a wicket and would look to scalp more on the final day on a wicket which is assisting spinners now. Jammu Kashmir finished day 2 on 103/4 as they are still 521 runs behind the first innings score of Saurashtra.
