Ravindra Jadeja smashes six sixes in an over in Saurashtra league match
Playing for Jamnagar, Jadeja smashed a quick fire 154 off just 69 deliveries against Amreli.
Veteran Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ignored continuously by the national selectors when it comes to the limited overs cricket. He has not been a part of the Indian limited overs side for quite some time now. Whilst he remains to be a top priority in the Test format, Jadeja’s fortunes in the ODIs and the T20Is has dwindled big time. He is currently honing his game in the local cricket matches of Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA).
While the Indian cricket team is busy taking on Sri Lanka in the limited overs assignment, Ravindra Jadeja has quietly given a reminder to the selectors about his presence as well. Jadeja, who has been in the controversy over his social media image in the recent times, hammered six sixes in an over during an inter-district match organised by the SCA.
Playing for Jamnagar, Jadeja smashed a quick fire 154 off just 69 deliveries against Amreli. His herculean knock helped his team Jamnagar register four points with the win. Last year, Jamnagar had managed to reach the semifinals of the same tournament. In the match, Jamnagar beat Amreli by a thumping margin of 121 runs. Earlier in the game, Ravindra Jadeja had opened the innings with Divyaraj Chauhan.
Raining fours and sixes
Interestingly, Jadeja’s stay at the crease lasted only till the team’s 20th over. However, it was brutal enough to seal the game for his side. It was in the 15th over of the match when Jadeja clobbered off-spinner Nilam Vamja for six sixes in the over. Jadeja’s century knock was embellished with 15 fours and 10 sixes. The SCA inter-district T20 tournament features 16 teams divided into four groups. Jamnagar play their next game against Botad on the coming Saturday.
This is not the first time that Jadeja has shown his form with the bat in the recent times. He had hit a double century in the Ranji Trophy fixture for his side as well in the ongoing season.
