India defeated Sri Lanka comprehensively by 6 wickets to clean sweep them in the ODI series as well. Virat Kohli scored his record 30th ton as he anchored the chase right through and remained unbeaten on 110. After the conclusion of the 5th One Day International, the official Twitter accounts of two top IPL sides were involved in a cheeky little conversation.

Men in Blue are in magnificent form in Sri Lanka and are yet to lose a game. They won the Test series 3-0 and now the One Day series by 5-0 to keep Sri Lanka at bay every time they looked to compete. The cricketing fraternity is hailing the team for such a wonderful performances and has regarded them as a ‘team to beat’ in the sub-continent.

The Main Story

Virat Kohli scored a superb ton in the 4th ODI which displayed how dominating he could be once he gets going. He followed it up with another masterful century in the last ODI. Chennai Super Kings franchise seemed to be loved his innings and posted an interesting message on Twitter for their competitors Royal Challengers Bangalore. The official account of CSK hailed the master of successful chases and hoped that he doesn’t play like that against them next year. The tweet read, “What can we say about this man. We can only hope we have a better day when we play against @RCBTweets. Inspiring. #ViratKohli.” The franchise is making a comeback next year after serving a two-year suspension from IPL.

RCB, in reply, praised their skipper for an excellent performance. The tweet read, “Always a #WhistlePodu when Virat Kohli gets going! #PlayBold.” The franchise would hope Kohli continues in the same form and do wonders for them in next season of IPL. RCB had a woeful season this year as they struggled to win a lot of games which resulted in them languishing at the bottom of the points table.

Earlier today, broadcasting rights for IPL were sold to Star India for a whopping amount of INR 16347.50 crore for the next 5 years from 2018-2022. The amount is almost half of what Sony Pictures paid (INR 8200 crore) for the double period.
