'RCB shouldn’t limit themselves' - Ashish Nehra advises the table toppers of IPL 2021
RCB have won four out of their four matches in IPL 2021 so far.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have had a dream start to their IPL 2021 campaign and the team is stepping up in full zeal and vigour. Winning all of their matches so far, RCB has rightfully held the top slot in the points table. It looks like everything is just going right for the Bangalore-based franchise but their former bowling coach Ashish Nehra has warned them with some advice.
The retired pacer believes that RCB are just in the right direction but they shouldn’t lose their focus and should not experiment as well before the playoffs. Nehra added how they experimented with few things while being in Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in IPL 2009 but RCB should avoid doing the same step.
“Virat Kohli, as a skipper, never take things lightly. The way they have started their campaign and won four in four, they shouldn’t limit themselves. I remember when I was in Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and when we went to South Africa in 2009. We experimented with a few things towards the end of the league phase as we had already won around 10 out of 12 games. So first, they should confirm their play-off qualification and try to finish in the top 2,” said Nehra while talking to Cricbuzz.
The Indian contingent shining well for RCB
While the RCB team always had a star-studded lineup in their backyard, the spark somewhere went missing on the field. However, this time around, each and every player has been contributing too well including their new overseas star Glenn Maxwell. Nehra also added that the franchise always missed the good services of their Indian players but even they are firing well this time.
Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Siraj have all been contributing well enough to the team’s success. Talking about their young batsman Devdutt Padikkal, he appeared in a different zone in RCB’s last game as he smashed a classy century to take RCB over the line by 10 wickets. His class and temperament while partnering with Virat Kohli showed that the young batter is capable of achieving much more in times to come.
