RCB vs DC: Live Streaming, Match Preview, Timings, Stats, Pitch Report & more for Dream11 IPL, Match 19
The team dynamics for these Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Delhi Capitals teams have been starkly similar.
If there ever has been an apt manifestation of the idiom– “to turn the tables”, it has been in this year’s IPL. The tables have turned and have turned quite literally.
Who would have believed that 18 matches into the tournament, the Delhi Capitals (DC) would be ruling the roost, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) would be in the top ranks, and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) would be reeling at the bottom making a hat-trick of losses? But it is all happening in the year that has already gone down in the history as a year as uncertain as any.
Not often do these two teams have occupied such spot in the league, but come 2020, RCB and DC have found themselves cruising and sailing. It is pleasingly strange that the “clash of toppers” means RCB vs DC and not the mundane CSK vs MI or CSK vs SRH.
The Challengers are entering this encounter after a comfortable and convincing victory of 8 wickets over the Rajasthan Royals (RR), whereas the Capitals managed to defend a monstrous 228 for 4 at the Sharjah highway. More than the victory, DC must be credited for managing to restrict their opponents KKR, 18 runs short of the target, on a track where nothing has appeared un-chasable.
The dynamics for these two teams have been starkly similar: Both the teams have a solid middle-order with some promising young talent at the top; quality spinners; aggressive and determined captains. And if this is not sufficient, both RCB and DC have won a game each in Super Over this year.
For RCB, a back-in-form Virat Kohli– who slammed a match-winning 72 in tandem with Devdutt Padikkal– will be a huge sigh of relief. For the Capitals, skipper Shreyas Iyer belted 88 off just 38 in the last game to set up a magnificent platform for his side. Overall, there will be plenty on offer in the 19th match of the season between RCB and DC at the Dubai International Stadium, Dubai, on 5th October 2020.
Pitch and conditions
The pitch at Dubai has given some of the evenest contests between the bat and the ball thus far. Despite that, the teams chasing have had a real tough time out in the middle. Of all the 7 matches played here this year, the team batting first has won 5 times, whereas the remaining two encounters have gone into the Super Over.
There has been a slight bit of movement with the new ball, whereas the spinners have got ample assistance too. With the pitches being used repeatedly, the latter will only extract more purchases in the coming times.
Playing Combinations for RCB vs DC
Royal Challengers Bangalore Probable 11
After a series scintillating shows at the top of the order, Devdutt Padikkal has cemented his spot in the team and has represented himself as a sturdy prospect. Virat Kohli finding his rhythm is only one more reason for RCB to celebrate as AB de Villiers has been in the runs already, and Shivam Dube has contributed decently in his slot too.
The addition of Isuru Udana has worked moderately well for the team, while Navdeep Saini has constantly been on the money. Yuzvendra Chahal was spot on in the last clash as he bagged 3 for 24 in his quota. He was supported well by Washington Sundar, who did not pick a wicket but tapped the scoring heavily though his frugal spell.
Probable 11- Devdutt Padikkal, Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli (C), AB de Villiers (WK), Shivam Dube, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Washington Sundar, Isuru Udana, Navdeep Saini, Adam Zampa, Yuzvendra Chahal
Delhi Capitals Probable 11
Shikhar Dhawan has got off to many starts, although he has failed to build a knock upon them. Dhawan’s young and dynamic pal Prithvi Shaw, however, has played a fearless brand of cricket and has looked at ease while amassing runs at the top. Shreyas Iyer’s (88 off merely 38) blitzkrieg guided DC to a gigantic total in their last game, and the skip was assisted well by another clean striker– Rishabh Pant.
Shimron Hetmyer has been unable to give an act of substance thus far, although the touch of the form of players around him has cloaked his poor run. Anrich Nortje has proved himself to be an excellent replacement and has made a mark alongside the pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada.
Probable 11- Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer (C), Rishabh Pant (WK), Marcus Stoinis, Shimron Hetmyer, Ravi Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Amit Mishra, Harshal Patel
