Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have faced Gujarat Titans (GT) in five matches so far.
RCB missed the playoffs for the first time in four years in 2023, but scripted a memorable comeback to qualify after being placed last at the halfway stage in 2024. Their season double over GT was a huge part of that.
Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, had a memorable first tournament as they clinched the title with the help of all-round performances from entire circuit. Pandya showed great signs of maturity in his first season as a captain. Pandya led the Titans to a runners up finish before leaving for Mumbai Indians. Hardik's successor Shubman Gill could not keep the momentum alive as GT couldn't qualify for the playoffs in IPL 2024.

In matches between the two teams, Virat Kohli, who has three fifties and a hundred from five innings against the Titans, leads the run chart with 344 runs. The next two names aren't very close to him on the list as Faf du Plessis has 164 runs in this clash while Shubman Gill has 154. The bowling department is led by Mohammed Siraj with 5 wickets while Josh Little, Noor Ahmad and Rashid Khan follow with 4 each.
The two teams last met in match no. 52 of IPL 2024 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Gujarat Titans were sent in to bat and were immediately shelled by Mohammed Siraj. Shahrukh Khan, David Miller and Rahul Tewatia tried to revive the innings with quick thirties, but a death overs surge by Yash Dayal and Vijaykumar Vyshak left GT tottering at just 147. RCB, especially Faf du Plessis went at the target in a hurry, du Plessis in fact, brought up the second fastest fifty for RCB in IPL history, and when he was dismissed for 64, the score read 92/1 in 5.5 overs. What looked like a cakewalk, turned into an almost nightmare as Josh Little and Noor Ahmad launched into the RCB batting which crumpled from 92/0 in 5.4 overs to 117/6 in 10.4 overs, but Dinesh Karthik and Swapnil Singh saw the chase through as RCB won with 38 balls to spare.
