‘Real shame’ – Hanuma Vihari slams a fan for his 'why don't you pay man' comment

Despite playing County cricket in England, Hanuma Vihari is leaving no stones unturned to help out his countrymen amid the COVID-19 crisis in India. The right-handed batsman has been amplifying the needs of common people on social media, helping them meet their requirements. Vihari has even created a team of 100 volunteers to provide needy people plasma, oxygen cylinders and hospital beds. While several fans are praising the cricketer for his noble act, one netizen questioned his work on Saturday, leaving Vihari livid.

Taking to his Instagram page, Vihari echoed the need of a girl, requiring financial help as her brother and father are fighting for their lives in the ventilator. While the comment section got flooded with compliments for Vihari, a disgruntled fan took a dig at the cricketer by asking him to pay the required money. Vihari was devastated with such sort of opinion as he slammed the netizen with strong words.

“It’s a shame but india is in this position because there are people like you living in this country. Real shame!!” Vihari wrote after the fan commented: “Why don’t you pay man !!!! You’re a famous athlete.” It’s pretty evident that the Andhra Pradesh cricketer is determined to his country fight the deadly disease. Hence, he didn’t mince his words after coming across the radical advice.

Earlier, Vihari had said that he wants to help the people at ground level and has no intention of bagging any limelight. “I don’t want to glorify myself – I am doing it with the intention of helping people at the ground level, who actually need every help possible in these difficult times. It is just the start,” Vihari said as quoted by ESPNcrininfo.

Alongside helping Indians to combat the deadly disease, Vihari must also be gearing up for the ICC World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand next month. The summit clash takes place at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton and will get underway on June 18. Vihari’s stint in county cricket would have made him familiar with the English tracks, and the right-handed batsman would be determined to make a mark.
