India begin their T20 World Cup preparations when they host South Africa in a five-match series starting June 9. According to the latest developments, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has allowed full seating capacity for the upcoming series. This indeed comes as a huge relief for the cricket lovers ahead of the high-octane home series.

The games were being conducted behind closed doors in the past couple of years due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in March 2020. The situation had also forced the BCCI to organize the IPL in the UAE during the 2020 and 2021 editions. Meanwhile, the ongoing IPL 2022 is being played in the attendance of the spectators.

100% fan attendance for India-South Africa T20Is confirmed

News18 reported the news of BCCI allowing the 100% attendance for the upcoming T20I series between India and South Africa. It is to be noted that only a restricted number of fans have been allowed to watch the IPL 2022 league matches across two venues in Maharashtra – Mumbai, and Pune but, the BCCI has given a thumbs up for having a 100% capacity crowd for the next week’s playoffs and the final in Kolkata and Ahmedabad respectively.

Coming back to India’s home series against the Proteas, the five games will be staged at New Delhi, Cuttack, Visakhapatnam, Rajkot, and Bengaluru, respectively between June 9 to 19. Meanwhile, it has been reported that several players who have showcased outstanding performances in the ongoing IPL 2022 including the likes of Umran Malik, Rahul Tripathi, etc. could be considered for this series with Shikhar Dhawan or Hardik Pandya captaining the side.

The report also states that the key players like Virat Kohli, skipper Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, etc. could supposedly be rested for the home series and the following away series against Ireland with a packed cricketing calendar starting from the England tour where the Men In Blue will be playing a limited-overs series as well as the rescheduled fifth Test in July.
