India cricketer Harbhajan Singh was expected to be in the UAE currently featuring in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). However, he pulled out of the entire season early last month ahead of the commencement of the 13th edition of the cash-rich league on September 19. The off-spinner cited personal reasons for his non-involvement in the tournament and requested the fans to give much-needed personal space to him.

However, the reports are now suggesting that Harbhajan Singh is set to take up the role of a commentator by the end of October. With the IPL reaching its business in the last week of this month, one can expect him to take the mic in his end for the same competition. Though nothing is clear yet and things are likely to get clear in the coming days.

Sources have confirmed to CricTracker that the 40-year-old is set to return as a commentator after a long gap. He had also worked as a commentator during India’s tour of England in 2018 when the Virat Kohli-led side had travelled to UK for a T20I, ODI and Test series.

Harbhajan Singh no more associated with CSK

Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh seems to be no more associated with the three-time champions CSK in the IPL. He, along with Suresh Raina’s name, have been removed from the team’s website as well. It was earlier reported that the franchise has also started the termination process of the duo.

The reason for the same could also that the mega auction is scheduled to take place ahead of the 2021 IPL season. But with not much time left for the next season to start, there are still chances that BCCI might postpone the mega auction to next year. In that case, Raina and Harbhajan might have to skip playing next year as well CSK, if their contracts are really terminated.

Having said that, for now, the latter will be delighted to return to the field albeit in a different role and it remains to be seen when Harbhajan himself confirms the news.
