Reports: KL Rahul to tie knot with Athiya Shetty in three months

India batter and one of the core members of the Indian team, KL Rahul, is set to tie the knot with Bollywood actor Athiya Shetty in three months. The pair has been dating for over three years and reportedly, the wedding preparations have already begun. KL Rahul is currently out of the Indian team as he is recovering from a groin injury.

Rahul’s parents were in Mumbai recently to meet Athiya’s family, according to News 18 reports. Both Athiya and Rahul, along with their families, visited the new house that they will be moving into, to watch the progress. The wedding preparations are monitored by the bride herself, which is expected to be held in Mumbai.

A senior Bollywood actor and Athiya’s father, Suniel Shetty said that the times have changed and it is for the duo to decide what they want to. Suniel, who also has a son named Ahan, said that he would also want his son to get married, and the sooner the better.

“She is my daughter, she will get married sometime. I would want my son to also get married, the sooner the better. It’s their choice. As far as KL Rahul is concerned, I love the boy. And it is for them to decide what they want to do because times have changed,” said Suniel.

“Beti aur beta dono hi responsible hai (My daughter and son are both responsible people). I would like them to take the decision. My blessings are always there for them,” added Suniel.

Athiya recently flew off to Germany where Rahul was going through treatment for his injury. It is expected that she will further stay there for around another month until the cricketer recovers. Rahul sustained the injury before the start of the home T20I series against South Africa in June after being named as the captain for the series in Rohit Sharma’s absence.
