MS Dhoni will be seen in action during the IPL 2022 as he gears up to lead the Chennai Super Kings. The defending champions begin their campaign against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the curtain-raiser on March 26 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Lately, it has been learned that the ‘Captain Cool’ has a Holi gift for all his fans and well-wishers at his hometown in Ranchi.
The legendary skipper is into agricultural activities, which he carries out at his luxurious 43-acre farmhouse located in Chambo near Ranchi in Jharkhand. It has been confirmed that he would be allowing general public into his farmhouse for commercial purposes i.e. to buy strawberries and vegetables for three days (March 17-19) on the occasion of Holi. According to reports “250 grams of strawberry packets will be available for INR 50”.
Dhoni keeps visiting the farmhouse from time to time: Roshan Kumar
“MS Dhoni cultivates strawberry, papaya, and guava, watermelon, peas, capsicum, fish, and wheat on a large scale in this farmhouse”, said Dhoni’s Agriculture Consultant Roshan Kumar as quoted by India Today. The report further adds that Dhoni is interested in farming and also “keeps visiting the farmhouse from time to time and works in the fields.”
Meanwhile, Dhoni was one of the retentions of the franchise for IPL 2022 for CSK, who also retained all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali and last season’s Orange Cap winner Ruturaj Gaikwad. MSD has been offered a sum of INR 12 crore. After having retained the majority of their squad at the two-day mega auction in Bengaluru last month, CSK will now be eyeing a record-equaling fifth IPL crown this time around.
They will be missing the services of bowling all-rounder Deepak Chahar for the first phase of IPL 2022 due to a hamstring injury. The four-time winners are placed in Group B which include the likes of the 2016 winners Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, and the new entrants Gujarat Titans.
