India will take on the West Indies in a limited-overs series that will consist of three ODIs and as many T20I matches in February this year. And, many expected that former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri will return to the commentary box for India’s home season that starts with the limited-overs series against the West Indies and will also include 2 Tests and 3 T20I games against Sri Lanka.
However, it has now been reported that Shastri will not make a return to the commentary box for India’s home season. Shastri is currently in Oman for the Legends Cricket League, as he has been appointed as the Commissioner of the tournament.
The commentary panel for the limited-overs series between India and West Indies will consist of Sunil Gavaskar, Harsha Bhogle, Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, Deep Dasgupta, Murali Kartik, Ian Bishop, and Ajit Agarkar.

Also, a report in the Times of India has revealed that Ravi Shastri has taken a decision that he will not return to the commentary box immediately after his stint as the head coach of the Indian cricket team has come to an end.
“He has taken a conscious decision not to take up commentary immediately, at least till the IPL. He has a lot on the table and for two more months he will remain busy. He will think over it after that,” stated a report in the Times of India.
Ravi Shastri played 80 Tests and 150 ODI matches for the Indian cricket team. While he scored 3830 runs in Test match cricket, Shastri scalped 151 wickets in the whites. In ODI cricket, Shastri plundered 3108 runs and took 129 wickets as well. He scored 15 centuries in his international career.
After his retirement, Shastri seamlessly transitioned to the commentary box and is today considered as one of the best commentators to have lent his voice behind the microphone in the game of cricket.
