Reports: Saif Ali Khan’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan aiming to play for India
It has been learnt that Ibrahim has been practising at the Mumbai Gymkhana for quite some time now.
Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan expectedly joined Bollywood and is doing well in her early days in the industry. One would now expect for his son Ibrahim Ali Khan to also do the same as it is in his genes. But he has different plans and wants to follow the path of his grandfather Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. Ibrahim wants to become a cricketer and passionately follows the sport.
He is willing to stay from the glitz and glamour of the cinema. Though his parents, Saif and Amrita Singh are expecting the 18-year-old to join the Bollywood industry, Ibrahim has reportedly asked them to give him one chance to ply his trade in cricket. It has also been learnt that the star kid has been inspired by his grandfather and wishes to represent his country at the highest level.
Mansoor Ali Khan led India in 40 out of 46 Test matches he played and is still regarded as one of the top players for the country.
He can always fall back on films
“Cricket is not just a hobby for Ibrahim, he is passionately following it. Saif Ali Khan and Amrita have both given him the go ahead to try for a while and see if he has it in him to make it at the highest level. Ibrahim’s grandfather Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi was also the captain of the Indian cricket team in 40 out of the 46 test matches that he played, and Ibrahim is majorly inspired by him.
“He will give cricket a shot first. God forbid if he doesn’t do well, he can always fall back on films because he is also blessed with his parent’s genes,” a source was quoted as saying by Pakistan website The News. Meanwhile, Ibrahim Ali Khan has been practising at the Mumbai Gymkhana for quite some time now.
