Ricky Ponting, Shane Warne and Adam Gilchrist all set to come out of retirement for bushfire relief

Australia is hit with a major calamity as the bushfires have affected the life of the local residents to an extreme extent. It all started back in September in which many people lost their lives and many people went homeless due to the same that left their life miserable. Now, a couple of legendary cricketers have come to a conclusion to take part in a fundraising campaign for the people, who were hit with such a disastrous tragedy.
Recently, Shane Warne, the former legendary spinner from Australia kept his cap in the auction that he wore in his 145 Tests long career. It was a step to raise some funds for the people that were being impacted with the crises of bushfires. And, he successfully managed to get a whopping price of 528,514 AUD.
Cricket Australia to initiate charity games to raise funds for the residents
Warne didn’t settle down with such a success and he has taken another major step to help the needy. He will come out of retirement for a three charity game that will be organized by Cricket Australia. He will be accompanied by Ricky Ponting, the former Aussie skipper, who is also ready to join hands with such a great campaign.
CA announced that this initiative has been taken to help out those people that have been hit by such a horrific calamity. The Bushfire Cricket Bash is scheduled to begin from February 8 in which Warne and Ponting will be leading their respective sides. They will be partnered by some of the former cricketing greats like Adam Gilchrist, Brett Lee, Justin Langer, Michael Clarke, Shane Watson and Alex Blackwell.
CA has already clarified about the fact that all the money that will be raised in the charity games will be donated to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund. It is only done to back Red Cross effort which is currently fulfilling all the requirements of the people, who have lost their homes and livelihood.
“The Bushfire Cricket Bash will be Cricket Australia’s major fundraising initiative to support Australians impacted by the recent unprecedented bushfire emergency,” CA’s CEO Kevin Roberts said as quoted by cricket.com.au.
