Rishabh Pant has been in top form with the bat for the Indian Test team. However, his wicketkeeping skills have been put into question several times. After he scored his fourth consecutive fifty in the second Test match against England, former Indian wicketkeeping Kiran More talked about Pant’s wicketkeeping skills.

In the ongoing Test series, Pant has been in really good form. He scored 91 in the first innings of the first Test and unbeaten 58 in the first innings of the second Test. While talking in an interaction, More predicted that the talented player from Delhi will play for India in all the three formats for 10 more years.

More has also said that the young keeper needs help and assistance to learn a little more. He said, “he just needs help and BCCI should appoint a specialist wicket-keeping coach.More has also served as the chief selector of the Indian team in the past. He was one of the selectors who had picked MS Dhoni way back in 2004.

Which other wicketkeeper-batsman has won Test matches single-handedly? Rishabh Pant has done it: Kiran More

More also talked about how young Pant can still learn a lot. “Pant is young and only 23. We are judging him too early. He is a tremendous talent. When Adam Gilchrist came in, he also struggled initially as a keeper. But he became a superman behind the stumps and in front. We have to give Pant time. Everyone is looking at his wicket-keeping all the time. Naturally so. He needs to take those catches and effect stumpings. He cannot miss those at regular intervals” More said during an interview of InsideSport.co.

More also pointed out that the wicketkeeper has always scored runs in the match where he hasn’t done well with the gloves. “Every time, there is a question mark against his keeping. He gets runs for the team. He wins Test matches for the team. Which other wicketkeeper-batsman has won Test matches single-handedly? Rishabh Pant has done it. He is going to play all formats of the game for India in the next ten years. He is going to become a very good wicket-keeper,” More concluded.
