Rishabh Pant to donate match fees after the Uttarakhand Glacier Burst
In a tweet, the left-hander put forth his wish of donating his match fees and also urged the others to come forward.
Rishabh Pant, the Indian batsman, has pledged to donate his match fees in support of the ones affected in the Uttarakhand Glacier Burst. A minimum of 170 people have been reported missing after a glacier crumbled on Sunday morning in the Tapovan area of Chamoli district in the Garhwal Himalayas. The actual number of casualties isn’t known just yet.
The incident was pretty reminiscent of the Kedarnath tragedy in the year 2013. Pant is currently plying his trade in the opening Test against England at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. In a tweet, the left-hander put forth his wish of donating his match fees and also urged the others to come forward in the situation of crisis.

Pujara’s words of wisdom for Rishabh Pant
In the third day’s play at the Chepauk, Pant scored 91 runs off 88 balls before getting out to Dominic Bess. Cheteshwar Pujara, who also got a half-century, said that the youngster shouldn’t be changing his style of play. But he also asked the southpaw to be a tad circumspect and be selective in his stroke-making.
“It is his (Pant) natural game so we cannot restrict him much. He can’t be too defensive because by doing so he can get out quickly. It is good for his game that he keeps on playing his shots but, at times, he has to be very selective,” Pujara told after the day’s play.
“He needs to understand which shots to play, which not. He needs to understand in which situation it is important that he stays in the crease. Balancing things out is the most important for him,” he stated.
Pujara was of the opinion that Pant can show a bit more patience and should look to build more partnerships. In India, Pant has played three Tests and has had three scores in the 90s with an overall average in the 90s as well.
“He will learn from his mistakes. There are times when he can be a little more patient and build another partnership with whoever is there in the crease. He is capable of putting the team first because whenever he bats longer, then we will always end up posting a big total. So, I am sure he will realise that,” Pujara added.
