In the three years or so, Rishabh Pant has been deemed as one of the brightest prospects in Indian cricket. The southpaw made his debut in the first half of 2017 but started playing regularly only from India’s away Tests against England in 2018. In the fourth and final Test at the Kennington Oval, he also went on to score a century, though Virat Kohli and Co couldn’t get over the line.

Later that year, he also smashed a century against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground. However, as far as his ODI and T20I career is concerned, he is yet to make a significant impact. For the time being, Pant doesn’t have any cricket to play. The COVID-19 pandemic has made sure that Indian cricket halted back in March after the abandoned match against South Africa in Dharamsala.

However, the Indian cricketers are starting to return to practice. Pant has also started practising. He spent some time with Suresh Raina before heading to Gurugram. A video of the 22-year-old left-hander is doing the rounds where he can be seen practising with all his heart and soul.

In the clip, Pant can also be seen, emulating MS Dhoni’s trademark helicopter shot. The southpaw deposited an off-spinner down the ground for a boundary. Over the years Dhoni has entertained the fans with the audacious stroke downtown.

As far as Dhoni is concerned, he hasn’t played any cricket since the 2019 edition of the World Cup in England and Wales. His last match was the semi-final against New Zealand where Martin Guptill ran him out with a direct hit. He scored a half-century in a critical situation, but couldn’t take India over the line. Since then, reports of his retirement have been doing the rounds.

He is next set to take part in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), starting September 19 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In the tournament, Dhoni has been a stalwart for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), taking the team through to the playoffs every other time since 2008. Earlier this month, he turned 39 years old and on the auspicious occasion, he was showered with wishes.
