Amid the extravaganza of Indian Premier League, teenage sensation hogged the headlines after he was picked by Rajasthan Royals for INR 20 lakhs for IPL 2019. The Guwahati-born player made sure that he left his mark in the cash-rich league by delivering impressive performances. Parag scored 160 runs in five innings with a strike rate of 127. The youngster also scored a 50 against Delhi Capitals to become the youngest ever player to smash a half-century in the history of IPL.
Parag was all set to share the Rajasthan Royals dugout with players like Steve Smith and Ben Stokes in IPL 2020. However, due to the postponement of the much-awaited league, cricketers are currently left with no choice but to wait and keep themselves fit amid the pandemic.

Parag was asked by a fan about his favourite female cricketer. He took the name of Smriti Mandhana, who has been stealing the limelight since she broke into the India Women side. Smriti was also a part of the India Women side which recently suffered a defeat in the finals of Women’s T20 World Cup against Australia.
Parag also revealed the favourite moment of his IPL career. The 18-year-old said that scoring a four against Imran Tahir was his favourite moment in the tournament along with his knock against Kolkata Knight Riders. Parag played a vital role against a dominant KKR side and helped Rajasthan in winning the encounter. Parag played a 31-ball 47 knock before getting dismissed off a hit-wicket scenario and falling short of a fifty.
