Road Safety World Series 2022: Second edition of tournament set to start from June 4
New Zealand legends are the newest entrants which makes it an 8-team tournament.
The second edition of the Road Safety World Series cricket league will start from June 4, with the final match to be played on July 3. A total of three venues including Lucknow, Indore and Jodhpur have been picked for the tournament. To note, a new team New Zealand legends have been added in the Road Safety World Series. Apart from that, legends of India, Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies, South Africa, Bangladesh and England will also take part in the tournament.
The Road Safety World Series is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and the Ministry of Information and Technology and Youth Affairs and Sports Government of India. The 30-day tournament is played with the aim to create awareness towards road safety in India and around the globe.

“The Road Safety World Series is a very good initiative to create awareness towards road safety through cricket. We want every individual in this country to be aware and obey every rules and regulations while on the road and for that to happen, we have to create awareness among the people, I strongly believe that this series will be able to do and achieve the goal of saving lives on Indian roads,” Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari was quoted by News 18.
The main motive behind conducting such a series is to drive social change in the world and change commuters outlook towards road safety. The league will be an ideal platform to circulate the message, as cricket is the undoubtedly one of the biggest followed sports in the world.
“I am sure the Road Safety World Series will drive social change and work as an ideal platform to influence people’s mindset towards their behaviour on the road and road safety,” Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said.
