The RSWS, which was founded by Ravi Gaikwad, came into existence in order to raise awareness about road safety.
While the first season of the Road Safety World Series T20 (RSWS) was nothing short of a blockbuster, the second season of the T20 tournament is all set to commence on February 5. It will take place in Indiaand the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
While India will be hosting the games from February 5 to March 1, UAE will host the remaining matches, which include those from March 1 to 19. The Arab nation will be hosting the grand finale, which will take place on March 19.
While it is organized by MSPL & ANZA Investment Group, according to a report by The Print, an Emirates Cricket Board official confirmed it, having issued a NOC for the mega event to the organizers ANZA Investments Group. In fact, the ANZA Investments Group happens to be a group company of Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Alnahyan.
160 international retired cricketers to feature in RSWS 2022
While the first edition of this T20 league was a huge success owing to the presence of several legends and former cricketers who have played international cricket in the past, the second season is expected to be bigger and grander. This is mainly due to the fact that the upcoming season is all set to feature 160 cricketers who are well-reputed and have already established themselves in the cricketing arena for a really long time.
The RSWS, which was founded by Ravi Gaikwad, came into existence in order to raise awareness about road safety and thus, the name of the T20 league consisted of the words “road safety”. While the previous season saw India win the title, the tournament saw several cricketing legends such as Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Kevin Pietersen, Jonty Rhodes, Carl Hooper, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh feature in it.
Former Sri Lankan cricketer Tillakaratne Dilshan was the player of the series of the inaugural edition of the RSWS. Not only did he score the most number of runs in the earlier edition, but he was the leading wicket-taker as well. Thus, owing to the success of RSWS 2020-21, the RSWS 2022 is expected to live up to the hype
