Robin Uthappa blessed with a baby girl

Chennai Super Kings’ prolific batter Robin Uthappa and his wife Shheethal announced the arrival of his second child on July 14. The CSK batter shared a picture with his newborn, his son, and his wife on his official social media handle. KL Rahul, Piyush Chawla, and Irfan Pathan were a few among the others who congratulated the couple.

“With hearts that are full, we’d love to introduce our newest angel in our lives. Introducing Trinity Thea UTHAPPA. We’re so grateful to you for choosing us to bring you into the world and blessing us to be your parents and your brother,” Uthappa captioned a post on Instagram.

Uthappa made his international debut in 2006 when he played an ODI against England. His performances for the India B team against India A in the Challenger Trophy tournament had caught the attention of the selectors. His match-winning century against India A in Mohali rewarded him with his debut cap as he stepped in in place of Virender Sehwag for the final ODI of the series.

Uthappa has been associated with the Chennai Super Kings for the past two years. He joined the squad when the Rajasthan Royals released him through the trade window during IPL 2021. He did not get many chances initially but went on to score some big knocks in the few games that he played.

He became an integral part of the team’s run in 2021 and CSK eventually lifted their fourth title that season. After an impressive show, he was roped in by the four-time champions during the mega auction ahead of the IPL 2022. CSK’s performance this year deteriorated and they could not stand by their title, but Uthappa managed to play some good knocks and was a part of the team’s playing combination in 12 out of the 14 games.
