Rohit Sharma dedicates MoM award to his wife Ritika Sajdeh
The Hitman ended his poor run on the tour with a wonderful century.
Rohit Sharma roared back into form in the fifth One-Day International against South Africa with a stupendous ton in Port Elizabeth. His knock came on the backdrop of some extremely poor performances on the tour and was severely criticised for his approach towards the game. There were also calls that he was a home track bully. However, he answered all the critics with a wonderful knock and scripted a historic series win for India.
Rohit was involved in the couple of run-outs with Ajinkya Rahane and the skipper Virat Kohli which sucked the life out of the Indian innings. But he made sure he didn’t throw away his wicket and smashed hid 17th ODI ton eventually helping his team post a decent total on the board.
He was also awarded Man of the Match for his efforts with the bat as the pitch increasingly became difficult to play. He also looked a usual self during his stay in the middle as the best shot played on the day was his authoritative hit off Kagiso Rabada which went out of the park. The bowler had his number six times before that in 8 innings and had become his nemesis.
Hitman’s message for his wife
Rohit Sharma is clearly missing his wife Ritika Sajdeh on this tour and he dedicated his Man of the Match award to her on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. He posted his picture with the trophy on Instagram and captioned it as, “Happy Valentine’s Day Rits @ritssajdeh.” He was clearly satisfied with his knock and it was visible during the post-match press conference where he responded to few questions from the media candidly.
Here’s his post:
However, he would be looking to end the tour on a high with the three-match T20I series commencing on February 18. Also, the last ODI is set to be played on Friday at Supersport Park in Centurion in which Rohit would love to prove that his knock was not a fluke and back it up with yet another astonishing display.
