Rohit Sharma donates Rs 80 lakhs to India's fight against Coronavirus
He also donated to Zomato Feeding India initiative and Welfare of Stray Dogs.

India, like many countries, is fighting against the Coronavirus at the moment. The count of the positive cases in the country has gone beyond 1200 even though the nation is under lockdown at the moment since March 24. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi even introduced the PM’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situation (PM-CARES) fund urging the people to donate for the well-being of their fellow citizens.
And the Indian cricketing fraternity has come forward generously lending their helping hand during the crisis time. The latest to join the long list is India’s limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma who has donated Rs 80 lakhs in four different ways taking care of even the stray dogs and the hungry and poor people across the country.
Rohit Sharma donates Rs 5 lakh to Zomato Feeding India
Rohit Sharma has donated Rs 45 lakhs to the PM CARES fund while the amount of Rs 25 lakh has been given to the Maharashtra CM Relief Fund. He has also taken care of the hungry people through Zomato Feeding India initiative donating Rs 5 lakh to them. His love for the dogs is well known to everyone and the Hitman has decided to donate Rs 5 lakh to the Welfare of stray dogs too.
He took to his official Twitter handle to announce his donations and also expressed his desire to witness his nation back on its feet. Rohit Sharma urged his fans and followers to get behind the Government and help them in best possible way.

On Monday, the India skipper Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma also jointly donated Rs 3 crore to the PM CARES Fund. Suresh Raina, Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Richa Ghosh, Ajinkya Rahane, Poonam Yadav are some of the Indian cricketers to have so far donated to the noble cause.
