Rohit Sharma gives fans a glimpse of his preparations ahead of Asia Cup 2018

Team India might have faced a severe drubbing at the hands of England but the Men in Blue are in no mood to back down. With the Asia Cup 2018 just around the corner, the Indian side will be looking to bounce back in style and stamp their dominance on the one-day format afresh. Recently, skipper Rohit Sharma gave us a glimpse of how he’s already started preparing for the exciting tournament.

The 2018 edition of the Asia Cup kicks off on September 15 at Dubai, with the entire tournament to be held in various venues of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). India will face Hong Kong in their first match of the championship on September 18, followed by the all-important clash against Pakistan the very next day. The tournament will witness six teams, namely, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the race for the trophy.

Rohit Sharma is all geared up for the Asia Cup

India will be playing without the services of their regular ODI skipper, Virat Kohli who’s been rested for the time period of the Asia Cup. Instead, 29-year old Rohit will don the captain’s hat and the right-hander is already looking very charged up to give it his best shot. He recently posted a video of his practice session on the social media platform Instagram to give his fans a glimpse of what he’s been up to.

In the short clipping, ‘Hitman’ was seen practising a variety of shots in the outdoor nets, sweating it out before the important championship. Sharma captioned his practice video as “Kit up, pick your bat and focus on the next mission. #AsiaCup.”

Recently, India concluded the month-long away series against England on an abysmal note, drawing much flak from critics and fans alike. The Test series against England saw the Indians fail miserably in the batting department, with the top-order looking particularly out of sorts.
