The Indian cricket team is just about to get into Test mode and play Australia in the four-match series starting December 6. This time around they have made a change in the middle-order and added limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma into the mix. Rohit last played a Test at the Centurion on the tour of South Africa. In Australia, he is without his partner and is feeling incomplete.

BCCI selectors picked KL Rahul, Murali Vijay and Prithvi Shaw as the three preferred openers for the Test series down under which means Rohit’s limited-overs partner Shikhar Dhawan had to miss out. But that’s not the other half he was talking about. It was a post for his wife Ritika Sajdeh who is in India and not with him right now.

Rohit and Ritika missing each other

Rohit put up a post on Instagram, it was a picture with his wife and read “Missing my other half”

Earlier, Ritika had also shared a screenshot from one of their video calls. It was the one with Rohit and Zoravar Dhawan in it. She wrote- “FaceTime with my two favourite boys in Melbourne”

One of the reasons why Ritika isn’t accompanying her husband could be because of the BCCI’s new norm for the WAGs. While previously the board would allow Wives and Girlfriends to travel with the players during one of the series’ on overseas tours they’ve tweaked it now.

The board had recently conveyed that WAGs can be with the players for only 14 days that after the first two weeks of a 45-day overseas tour. There were other reports surfacing recently which suggested that the BCCI on request from skipper Virat Kohli might allow a family period on tours during which they can spend time together.
