It was a thriller of an encounter last night when table toppers Surisers Hyderabad visited the Chinnaswamy stadium as they took on the Royal Challengers Bangalore. It turned out to be high octane clash, with both teams scoring 200+ runs to keep the fans entertained and glued to their seats.

Batting first, the Virat Kohli-led team produced a batting masterclass. South African batting stalwart AB De Villiers and England all-rounder Moeen Ali set the stage for a big total with scores of 69 and 65 respectively. Late cameos from Colin de Grandhomme and Sarfaraz Khan saw RCB post a total of 218 at the end of their innings.

However, during the chase, it was SRH skipper Kane Williamson who hogged all the limelight. The Kiwi skipper seemed to single-handedly take away the game with a blistering 81. Williamson was extremely clinical in the middle, picking the gaps and keeping the boundaries coming in regular intervals. In the end, it was one too many for SRH, as they ended up losing the match by 14 runs.

Nevertheless, Williamson’s heroics earned him appraisals from fans and pundits alike. Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma also took to social media to heap praises on him. Rohit took to his Twitter handle and wrote, “T20 cricket isn’t just about power, it’s also about being smart and playing to your strengths and Williamson is doing exactly that.”
