Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was in the centre of a friendly banter with Australia wicketkeeper and captain Tim Paine during the third Test of the four-match series at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). When the 21-year-old Pant came to bat in India’s first innings, Paine called him a ‘babysitter’ and ever since, the banter has turned out to be a butt of jokes in the social media platforms.
Thereafter, Bonnie Maggs, Tim’s wife posted a picture on his Instagram story where Pant was seen carrying their children. The incident took place at the Australian Prime Minister’s, Scott Morrison, residence. The post immediately went viral and Paine’s better-half became an overnight sensation. Paine and Pant also opined on the post while heaping praise on each other.
Rohit wants Pant to ‘babysit’
Now even Rohit Sharma, the right-handed Indian batsman, decided to take a friendly jibe at Pant for the babysitter incident. Back on December 30, 2018, the Mumbai cricketer gave birth to a baby daughter and named her ‘Samaira’. He didn’t play the fourth and final Test at the renowned Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) and flew to Mumbai in order to attend his pregnant wife Ritika Sajdeh.
Both were delighted after the development as 2018 ended on a happy note for them. Subsequently, the couple was also showered with praises from every nook and corner of the country. Rohit came back to Australia yesterday to be a part of the ODI squad that is scheduled to play a three-match series from Saturday, January 12. The first match will be played at the SCG itself.
In the meantime, Pant isn’t a part of the 50-overs squad and Rohit playfully asked him to take care of his kids as Pant is a good ‘babysitter’. Rohit took to Twitter and wrote, “Morning buddy. Heard your a good baby sitter, need one right now. Ritika will be quite happy @RishabPant777,”
