Ace Indian batter Rohit Sharma’s funny exchanges with team-mate Yuzvendra Chahal are something that entertains the fans. The two cricketers are known to be close buddies with Chahal sometimes even joining Rohit’s family moments on the social media with his wife. The duo was found again at it recently and this time, it was the opening batsman who roasted Chahal over his batting skills.
The 28-year-old wrist spinner who aspires of hitting a six in international cricket recently made the headlines in New Zealand with his batting. In the fourth match of the ODI series against the Black Caps in Hamilton where the rest of the Indian batting line-up struggled in bowler-friendly conditions, Chahal remained unbeaten on 18.
The highest scorer for India on the day, Chahal hit three boundaries with a bat that sported the sticker of MRF, something that legendary batsmen like Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara had endorsed in the past. Although India were bowled out for 92 in that game, Chahal’s batting came under a lot of discussions. Incidentally, Rohit was captaining India in that game.
Rohit brought that matter back to the table recently by posting on Instagram a photograph of Chahal holding a bat inside a room without any sponsor’s sticker on it. He captioned the photograph saying, “Plain bat? I thought by now you could get a sponsor for your bat after that knock in NZ. #GOAT”.

Chahal has hit only five boundaries in international cricket
Chahal has so far hit just four boundaries in international cricket (all of them in the ODI format) although he has been playing for nearly three years now. Last year, Chahal had raised his bat after hitting his first boundary in international cricket which was against England first bowler David Willey.
On Sunday, Chahal remained unbeaten without scoring in the first T20I against Australia in Visakhapatnam along with Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The wicketkeeper-batsman was seen denying Chahal a batting opportunity as he was the senior partner but he himself failed to middle the ball as well.
