Rohit Sharma praises Jasprit Bumrah for his hard work on Twitter

The Indian Team is bound to be buoyant on the back of their recent 9-0 series victory against Sri Lanka. Be it batting, bowling or fielding, skipper Virat Kohli‘s boys have excelled in all departments. However, this didn’t stop pacer Jasprit Bumrah from starting to gear up for the upcoming series and this hard work of his was much appreciated by ODI vice captain, Rohit Sharma.
Having participated in 3 Test matches, 5 ODIs, and a lone T20 against Sri Lanka at one go, the Indian team has been allotted a rest period of a little more than a week before their series against Australia at home kicks off. Both Sharma and Bumrah performed well in the Lanka tour, with the latter also receiving the Man of the Series award. India are all set to host Australia for 5 ODIs and 3 T20I matches, starting on September 17.
Rohit Sharma lauds Jasprit Bumrah’s dedication
Recently, Bumrah took to Twitter to share a selfie on the cricket field after training. The 23-year old fast bowler hasn’t been cutting any slack as he chose to take the field as soon as the Sri Lanka tour ended, in order to prepare for the upcoming Australia series. He captioned his picture as “Back to training straight away. End of a good running session. #training #norest #hardwork”.
His teammate, Rohit Sharma lauded his dedication to his fitness and his game and tweeted his appreciation on the social media platform. He praised Bumrah for “leading by example” and encouraged him to up the ante. Bumrah acknowledged the gesture and subsequently thanked Sharma in a reply to the former’s tweet by saying, “Thank you mr sharma”.

The 3rd ODI between India and Sri Lanka saw Bumrah pick up 5 wickets in his quota of 10 overs while conceding only 27 runs. He also managed to climb up to a career best 4th position in the ICC ODI bowling rankings at the end of the series. Rohit Sharma, on his part, accumulated 302 runs in the 5 ODIs that he played against the Lankans at a staggering strike rate of 97.11.
