There are several hard hitters of the cricket ball but the class and nonchalant demeanor of Rohit Sharma remains unmatched in the world cricket. Rohit is the only batsman in the history of the game to have scored two double centuries in ODIs. Whilst scoring a double ton in ODIs in itself is a herculean task, this Mumbai lad has two to his name.

In a recent episode of the Breakfast With Champions, anchor Gaurav Kapoor asked Rohit Sharma to pick his favorite double ton. Gaurav rightly mentioned that this question cannot be asked to any other cricketer. Rohit, in his response, mentioned that it is a tough pick. He cited both the efforts to be significant. Talking about his maiden double ton, 209 against Australia at Bengaluru, Rohit pointed out that it was the series decider.

Also, the series had been a high scoring one. Hence, with Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli getting out early, the onus was on him to take the score past 350. He hit 16 sixes in that innings, a world record which was later equalled by AB de Villiers. Commenting on his second double ton, 264 against Sri Lanka at Kolkata, Rohit Sharma mentioned that he had come in to the series after a 3-month injury layoff.

He had doubts over his own capabilities and revealed that he had discussed the same with Ritika Sajdeh as well. He ended up hitting 33 boundaries in that innings. Rohit cited that there are times when the entire team does not hit 33 boundaries in an innings and hence that knock was special.

In a funny revelation, he said that the then coach of the team, Duncan Fletcher told him that he could have hit a triple ton had he not started off slowly in the match. Rohit laughed off at the incident and said that scoring 264 is no easy effort either. Lastly, he conceded that the expectations will never cease and he will try to achieve better and bigger things in the future. “India as a country will never stop expecting more from you, and that is acceptable,” Rohit Sharma signed off.
