Due to the outbreak of coronavirus, the situation in the whole world has been quite tense in the last couple of months. The life-threatening virus has threatened human existence and people are suggested to stay indoors in such a critical condition. More than 1.9 lakh people across the world have died due to the pandemic and governments are trying their best to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The stern situation has also put the sporting scenario at a halt as all major sporting events– From Tokyo Olympics to IPL 2020– have either been called off or postponed to tackle the pandemic. With no sports in the frame, sportspersons including cricketers are left with no choice but to spend their idle quarantine time on social media.

Many prominent cricketers including Rohit Sharma have resorted to Instagram live and Twitter Question & Answer sessions. The Indian opener has been quite active on social media these days and has been interacting with several cricketers through Instagram live. Rohit has been interacting with many cricketers like Kevin Pietersen, Yuzvendra Chahal and Jasprit Bumrah during the lockdown.

His latest guest on Instagram live was his former Mumbai Indians and India teammate Harbhajan Singh. The duo discussed several things during their interaction in the live session. In a career spanning over a decade, Rohit has shared the dressing room with many Indian stalwarts. The current India opener revealed his five all-time favourite Indian batsmen.

Rohit picked Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, VVS Laxman, and Sourav Ganguly in his list. These five cricketers played a pivotal role in shaping up Indian cricket. It was regarded as a golden era for Indian cricket when these five batsmen used to don the national jersey. Be it Tests or ODIs, these five cricketers etched their name in the heart of every Indian fan.

Sachin Tendulkar has been a role model and inspiration for almost every Indian cricketer. Along with Tendulkar, Laxman and Dravid were also known for their on-field resilience and technique. Sehwag, on the other hand, were known for their aggressive approach to the game. Talking about Ganguly, he was perhaps regarded as the flagbearer of change in Indian cricket scenario.

A few days ago, Rohit had also shared a video where he had described his quarantine routine. In the video, the Mumbai batsman was spotted doing workouts, spending time with his daughter, and helping his wife in the kitchen.

Rohit was set to don the Mumbai Indians jersey and lead them to their fifth title in IPL 2020. However, the outbreak of coronavirus has put the tournament on hold as the much-awaited league has been postponed indefinitely in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak.
