On the occasion of Manish Pandey’s birthday, India opener sent wishes to his teammate in a unique way. The Karnataka player turned 28 on Sunday and is set to become the pillar of Indian middle-order in the coming days. After Yuvraj Singh’s exclusion and KL Rahul’s misery in the position, he fits the bill well, at the No. 4 position.
Pandey had a good outing on the Sri Lanka tour where he grabbed the opportunity with both hands scoring 137 runs in three matches. He scored two match-winning unbeaten half-centuries in the process and made his selection in the series against Australia inevitable. Having played plenty of cricket at domestic level and for India A team, many believe that Pandey could be the future of Indian cricket in the middle order which is looking very vulnerable, bar MS Dhoni.
In Rohit’s tweet wishing Pandey on Twitter, he has called him Chulbul Pandey (Name of Salman Khan’s character in Dabangg) and wished him success with Team India in the coming days.
Rohit Sharma’s tweet read:
“Hey Chulbul Pandey many happy returns of the day. Lots of success around the corner @im_manishpandey“

What to expect from them in the upcoming matches?
Manish is majorly remembered for a stellar knock in Sydney in January 2016, where he was unbeaten in his maiden ODI century, helping India gun down Australia’s 330 with two balls to spare and prevent a whitewash. The 28-year-old is keen to play a couple of games in the Karnataka Premier League (KPL) this week to prepare well for the series against Australia that will begin next Sunday.
In order to make the spot his own, especially for World Cup 2019, Pandey will need to play with more consistency in the upcoming series. On the other hand, the newly appointed vice-captain, Rohit Sharma is enjoying a sensational season playing for India in ODIs, as he is one of the leading run-scorers in the format around the world this year, and expect things to get better for him in the matches to come.
