Yuzvendra Chahal made his debut for India in 2016 and has been a regular member of the national team ever since. Though he is yet to play Test cricket, Chahal has, well and truly, made a name for himself in ODI and T20I cricket. Along with chinaman Kuldeep Yadav, Chahal has given headaches to a number of opponents. Over the last three years, Chahal has come up the ranks at a brisk rate.

He came to the limelight after he turned up with some impressive performances, playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He mostly bowled on pitches at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium that weren’t helpful for the spinners by any means. From there, he came into the fore. Last year, he also did well for the Men in Blue in the World Cup.

For the time being, he doesn’t have much to do as India is currently in the grip of the coronavirus pandemic. Chahal last played in the ODI and T20I series in New Zealand earlier this year. It’s been over five months since the tweaker has taken part in any form of cricket. He was set to play in the 2020 IPL, which also had to be postponed indefinitely after the lockdowns due to COVID-19.

During his while, he also entertained the fans on Tik-Tok, an application which has also been banned in India. However, Chahal has had his moments of joy. On Thursday, July 23, the Haryana-born turned 30 years old and on the auspicious day, he was showered with wishes from his dear ones.

In the meantime, Rohit Sharma, Chahal’s teammate in Team India, also wished him on the special day. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Many happy returns to India’s greatest national treasure #GOAT @yuzi_chahal,”

Interestingly, Chahal has played for the Mumbai Indians (MI), where Rohit is the skipper, as well. In fact, he made his debut in the IPL under Rohit’s captaincy itself. From 2011 to 2013, Chahal was there with the Mumbai franchise after which he moved to Virat Kohli’s RCB where he has played six seasons as of now.
