The Indian captain Rohit Sharma slammed the third double-century of his career in the ongoing second ODI against Sri Lanka. This was also his second against the same opposition having scored his the highest individual score of 264 in ODIs against them only. Sharma was in no mood whatsoever to give his wicket away in Mohali as his shots were just pleasant to the eyes of the spectators. However, his wife Ritika Sajdeh got emotional as he raised his bat after scoring a double century.

Interestingly, December 13 marks the wedding anniversary of Rohit Sharma and Ritika Sajdeh and the adorable couple completed their second year together on the day. Rohit celebrated it in style as Sri Lankan bore the brunt of his knock in which he smashed 12 sixes and remained unbeaten on 208. Ritika, throughout was sitting in the same place watching the innings of her husband and her fingers crossed as Rohit got close to his historic double-century.

He eventually ran his 200th run as emotions came out in the form of tears from the eyes of his wife. She stood up to applaud in what was one of the best knocks in the ODI cricket ever and couldn’t control herself from crying. Though one would suppose those were the tears of joy as Rohit Sharma shattered records on the day and it surely calls for a huge celebration on his wedding anniversary either after the match or on the rest day.

Sri Lanka lose early wickets

India posted a gigantic total of 392 runs for the loss of just four wickets in their stipulated 50 overs courtesy the half-centuries from Shreyas Iyer and Shikhar Dhawan to back their captain’s knock. Sri Lanka however, needed to replicate such an innings from someone to win the match and thereby the series in Mohali itself. But as of now, it looks like they have resigned to their fate and have lost two wickets in the first eight overs. Both the openers are back to the pavilion without showing any intent to score quick runs.
