New Zealand middle-order batsman Ross Taylor has been in great touch over the last few months and is looking forward to the upcoming challenges. The 34-year-old is currently representing his side in the Test match against England and unknowingly, he fell prey to a prank played by the famous English fan club, the Barmy Army.

Although the day or time of the incident wasn’t mentioned, Ross Taylor was fielding on the boundary during England’s innings. When he found some time, he started signing autographs for the fans and something interesting happened. Probably one of the Barmy Army members gave him a yellow sandpaper to sign and he did so. He also was spotted laughing in the video whilst signing that paper.

A similar yellow sandpaper was used by Cameron Bancroft at Newlands during the Third Test to tamper the ball. Ever since the English fans are not letting an opportunity go to troll the Australian cricketers. This was another subtle dig by the very famous Barmy Army contingent, who posted this video on Twitter.

England in control of the second Test

After an embarrassing defeat in the first Test, England has found some form in the second. After posting a decent first innings total, they managed to stem the flow of runs with the ball. New Zealand lost early wickets at Christchurch and needed a big partnership in the middle to save them from this predicament. The Kiwis have restricted to 36/5 at one point thanks to this genius named Stuart Broad.

Colin de Grandhomme and BJ Watling provided them the much-needed partnership, adding a whopping142 runs for the 6th wicket. Just before the end of the day’s play, Broad came back into the attack and picked up the prized scalp of Grandhomme. Tim Southee and BJ Watling are currently battling it out in the middle after stumps on Day 2.

New Zealand trail the English by 115 runs and visitors are aiming to pull clear with some early wickets on Sunday morning. After 5 overs on the 3rd day, they will be allowed to go for the second new ball and that should do a lot of damage.
