Ross Taylor mistaken as Grey Worm from Game of Thrones
Former New Zealand cricket captain Ross Taylor on Tuesday revealed that he was mistaken for American drama series, Game of Thrones character Grey Worm when he went for a TV show in London.
“So I was two minutes away from going on Soccer AM, the UK’s massive Saturday morning soccer show ahead of the FA Cup semi-final as Grey Worm from Game of Thrones – who’s a huge Manchester United fan apparently,” Taylor was quoted as saying by New Zealand Cricket’s website.
“It would’ve been like that guy who came to the BBC for a job interview that ended up talking live on TV. So that was pretty funny I thought!” he added on a lighter note.
The 32-year-old is currently playing for Sussex in England’s domestic cricket championship Natwest T20. He will join the Kiwi squad next month when the Black Caps tour Africa for two Tests each against Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Taylor has had a good time in England. With 207 in 4 games at a strike rate of close to 150, Taylor sits at sixth in the points table, including 3 half-centuries. He started off with an unbeaten 48 ball 93 runs knock, batting at No.4 and help his team amass a huge 242/5 in 20 overs.
His next game, where he could manage just a single run , was a dull one for him. However, he made a roaring comeback from the failure and struck more half-centuries in as many games subsequently.
