KKR vs RR Head to Head Record in IPL History

Kolkata Knight Riders reached the finals of IPL 2021 under the leadership of Eoin Morgan but failed to cross the line as they lost the summit clash at the hands of Chennai Super Kings. In 2022 they finished seventh in the points table with Shreyas Iyer at the helm. KKR couldn't qualify in 2023 either but scripted a dominant season to take home the title in 2024.  On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals have been on a downhill since their first title win in 2008. However, they did manage to reach the ultimate final in 2022 only to lose it to newcomers Gujarat Titans. Rajasthan Royals (RR) qualified in 2024, but only made it to third place.

Both KKR and RR hold a close record against each other in the cash-rich league. Among 29 matches in which these teams have met in IPL, 14 have been won by Kolkata Knight Riders, while Rajasthan Royals have won the rest 12 games including the two super over victories.

RR skipper Sanju Samson has scored the most runs (413) in matches between these sides in the IPL. Jos Buttler (393) is second and Ajinkya Rahane (356) is third. In terms of wickets, Sunil Narine leads the pack with 14 wickets followed by Shivam Mavi (13) while Varun Chakravarthy is third (11).

The two teams met in Match No. 6 of IPL 2025 at the Baraspara Stadium in Guwahati. A bit like the pitch, the game was quite damp. RR batted first and their innings went pretty much nowhere. KKR struck with regular wickets and choked the middle order with spin as RR finished on an unimpressive 151. While other batters struggled in the chase, Quinton de Kock was his free-flowing best on a two-paced surface. Eventually, de Kock finished the chase himself to finish with 97*.
