Russel Arnold shows off his shades, Twitterati ask if they help in smog
Russel Arnold has defended Sri Lanka's action in the ongoing Test match in Delhi.
Former Sri Lankan all-rounder and cricket analyst Russel Arnold got roasted after he shared his picture wearing brand new shades. Arnold had defended his countrymen yesterday after the smog-break episode that unfolded at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi. A cricket fan tweeted Sanjay Manjrekar’s statement of being surprised at not seeing the Lankans wear the mask while batting.
Arnold replied saying he was surprised at not seeing the Indian players wear sunnies when batting, as they wear them in the field. Clearly, it didn’t go down well with many cricket fans. Many of the cricket experts questioned Sri Lanka’s cricketers for delaying the game yesterday.
Ganguly slams Lanka
Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly criticized Lanka’s tactics. “When they (Sri Lanka) came out to bat, I didn’t see any mask on all of those five batsmen who were at the crease. Nobody had the mask and if you look at the pavilion they were sitting in, there was no mask either. So, I don’t know how everything changed in such a quick time.” he said
“If Gamage and Lakmal were running it with a mask, even Angelo Mathews was running for ones and twos. It’s the same thing. What surprised me is that they never complained, wore the mask or made a show of it. That’s the worrying bit and I hope the intentions were not bad,” Ganguly told India Today.
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) lashed out at the BCCI for hosting a Test match in Delhi despite of the poor air quality. Many of the cricket fans asked Arnold if the shades help in smog. While others tried trolling him and reminded him of yesterday’s incident.
Arnold hasn’t replied yet but it will interesting to see if he comes up with something witty. Let’s take a look at the tweets-
