India has dominated the Galle Test in the best part of the three days so far. Electing to bat first on a placid Galle wicket, Kohli’s men batted with a great deal of assurance with opener Shikhar Dhawan leading the way with a blistering hundred on Test return. He was ably supported by Chestashwar Pujara, who scored his 12th hundred of his career.
Indian batsmen all over Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka hit back on Day two but it was a little too late as the top order had already inflicted the damage. Led by Nuwan Pradeep’s career best 6/132, India lost their last 7 wickets for 201 but finished on a gigantic score of 600 all-out. Sri Lanka’s batting, barring Angelo Mathews and Upul Tharanga, did not offer any resistance as they lost half their side for 143. But due to a counter attacking innings by Dilruwan Perera, who remained unbeaten on 92*, Sri Lanka finished on 291 all out.
Rusell Arnold states a fact, trolled
India, despite having a lead of over 300 runs, chose to bat again on Day 3. Former Sri Lanka batsman Russell Arnold, who is also a part of the commentary panel for this series, posted a very optimistic status on his Twitter account on Thursday. Arnold, just after India went past 500 on Day 2, harked back to the Colombo Test of 1997 when Sri Lanka batted for more than 3 days. He wrote that Sri Lanka had replied with 952 for 6 the last time India had amassed a score in excess of 500 in the first innings of a bilateral Test in Sri Lanka.
The last time India scored 500+ against SL in SL in the first innings of a Bilateral test match…. SL replied with 952 #Fact #SLvIND

The tweet attracted attention by a lot of Indian fans, who rubbished the optimism of Russell Arnold. A fan, in a cheeky reply, said that Sri Lanka would do well to achieve the reverse of that gigantic figure i.e. 259. In the end, it was a close shout as the Islanders finished with 32 more runs.
Reverse the digits, even if Sri Lanka get 259 I'll be surprised.
