S Sreesanth donates money to India's blind team

S Sreesanth was handed a life ban for the spot-fixing allegations four years ago. Although he has been cleared of all the charges, the life ban is yet to be lifted by the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI). He has also appealed against the ban in the Kerala High Court. Before all that he had asked for No Objection Certificate to the BCCI for playing in Scotland which was denied. As a result, Sreesanth decided to take the board to the court.

However, despite all the ruckus going on, Sreesanth has done something good. He was recently in Oman for the inauguration of certain Jewellery showrooms. The Indian speedster was invited by a local club which was not affiliated to Oman Cricket and he had a ball at certain players. “I was also invited by a local club to bowl at a few batsmen and the young men were impressed when I spoke on the game,” said Sreesanth.

He also decided to donate all the money he got for being present at the opening ceremony to the India Blind cricket team that won the T20 World Cup 2016 against Pakistan. He said, “I won’t disclose the figure I received for the promotional event, but whatever I have earned will be donated to India’s blind team.”

Sreesanth is quite familiar with the Indian blind team as he was there when they played Australia at Kochi. The Indian pacer was also there at the Presentation Ceremony after the game.

This also shows that the aggressive Sreesanth is only to be seen on the field. The blind team will surely be happy and will be lauding the Kochi bowler for his kindness. Will this affect the decision of BCCI? Only time will tell.
