S Sreesanth now slams Rahul Dravid and MS Dhoni for not supporting him
Six or more of the top 10 Indian players were accused by the Delhi Police: Sreesanth
Former Indian International S Sreesanth, after being in the spotlight last month, continues to remain in the headlines as he slammed his former coach/teammate Rahul Dravid and Indian captain MS Dhoni for not taking a stand for him during the torrid times he faced.
Sreesanth made these revelations during his interview in the Republic News channel. During the Indian Premier League (IPL) edition of 2013, Sreesanth was found guilty of spot-fixing along with two other Rajasthan Royals’ teammate.
Two years down the line, Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings were relegated from the cash-rich league due to corruption charges. During the entire fiasco, Rahul Dravid stood by his franchise, defending the Royals.
MS Dhoni, who had captained Sreesanth previously, apparently did not respond to Sreesanth’s emotional message during the times the Kerala pacer was under scrutiny.
“I was sad that Rahul (Dravid) stood by Rajasthan Royals, and didn’t support me despite knowing me well. I messaged MS Dhoni and sent him an emotional message. But he didn’t respond,” claimed S Sreesanth during the interview.
6 other Top Indian players were under Delhi Police’s radar
Furthermore, the pace bowler claimed that as many as six players from the Indian team were under the radar of the Delhi Police during the investigation, but it was only the Keralite who was made the scapegoat out of the situation as it would have affected the reputation of the Indian team and the game of cricket.
“Six or more of the top 10 Indian players were accused by the Delhi Police. If the other six names of the accused come out, it will really affect the game. Let’s face it, this is not the national team. The BCCI is a private firm. If I’m given an opportunity and I’m allowed to play, then I would play for another country,” concluded the 34-year old.
