The first Test match between South Africa and Bangladesh is being played at Kingsmead, Durban, with the home side completely bossing the game. The visitors are at 11/3 in their second inning with 263 more runs required to win the contest on a Day five-wicket.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh after winning the toss opted to bowl first in the first match of the series. South Africa were dominant in their batting as they piled up 367/10 in their first innings. Skipper Dean Elgar (67 off 101 balls), Sarel Erwee (41 off 102 balls), and Temba Bavuma (93 off 190 balls) were some key contributors for the home side.

Bangladesh in their first innings put up a decent fight, scoring 298/10. Opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy was the stand-out batter for the visitors as he scored a wonderful century. However, an excellent fielding effort from Keegan Petersen has surfaced on social media, which is grabbing everyone’s attention.

Bangladesh skipper, Mominul Haque,  was on zero off eight balls, when he was caught by Petersen on the bowling of Simon Harmer. The young batter was fielding at the silly point when Haque tried to play a defensive shot. However, the ball took the edge of his bat and brushed off his pads, before Petersen dived low to his left and completed a one-handed stunner.

South Africa after having a lead of 69 runs in the first inning, only managed to score 204/10 in their second innings. Skipper Elgar was once again a handy contributor making 64 off 102 balls. For visitors, Mehidy Hasan and Ebadot Hossain scalped three wickets each. Pacer Taskin Ahmed also got two wickets.

Chasing a target of 274, the visitors are having a horror of a time in the middle. Bangladesh have already lost three wickets for only 11 runs. Century maker in the first innings, Hasan Joy could only manage to make four runs. The other opener Shadman Islam could not open his account, while captain Mominul scored only two runs. Bangladesh will be requiring 263 more runs to win the first Test match and the hosts require only seven wickets on the final day of the match.
