Bangladesh’s Yasir Ali pulled off a stunning one-handed catch in the first slip to dismiss Temba Bavuma in the ongoing first Test against South Africa at the Kingsmead, Durban. Bavuma was batting on 4 off 22 balls when Ebadot Hossain bowled a length delivery and Bavuma edged the delivery in between the wicketkeeper and the first slip area. Ali had to fly towards his left side and grasped it in one hand at a very low height to complete a sizzling catch.

Low catches have always been difficult to grab and especially when it comes to the wrong side. Even the commentators were in awe of the catch from Ali and the whole Bangladesh team ran towards the fielder to celebrate the ecstatic moment.

Bavuma played really well in the first innings of the Durban Test when the whole side was crumbling. The right-hander top-scored with 93 runs to take his side to a formidable total on board. However, a brilliant catch from Ali sent him back early to the dressing room and it was a big moment in the game on the fourth day.

South Africa need 7 wickets to win

South Africa has dictated terms so far at the end of day four in the ongoing first Test and the home side is well on its way to taking a lead in the two-match Test series. After taking a lead of 69 runs in the first innings, South Africa was all out for 204 in 74 overs with Ebadot Hossain and Mehidy Hasan picking up three wickets each for the Bangladesh side. Dean Elgar was the top run-scorer for the Proteas with a well made 64 while Ryan Rickelton remained unbeaten on 39.

Bangladesh in a chase of 274 to win the Test, faced an early setback with three batters already gone with just 11 runs on board in 6 overs at the end of day four. Keshav Maharaj picked up two wickets while Simon Harmer picked up one wicket for the hosts and they are looking set for a victory on the final day until Bangladesh come up with a memorable run chase on the final day.
