SA20 Winners List from 2023 to 2025
South Africa’s premier T20 competition, SA20 has quickly become one of the most loved and viewed franchise T20 cricket. The third edition of SA20 concluded on February 8, 2025, with MI Cape Town lifting their maiden title.
Sunrisers Eastern Cape made history by winning the inaugural SA20 title in 2023 and successfully defending their crown in 2024. Led by Aiden Markram, they defeated Pretoria Capitals in the first-ever SA20 final in Johannesburg, winning by four wickets. The 2024 edition saw them continue from where they left, finishing at the top of the points table with seven wins in 10 matches. In the final at Newlands, Cape Town, the Sunrisers crushed Durban Super Giants by 89 runs.
In the recently concluded edition, Rashid Khan-led MI Cape Town ended Sunrisers Eastern Cape’s quest for a third consecutive title. In the final, Cape Town defeated the Sunrisers by 76 runs in Johannesburg.
Batting first, MI Cape Town posted a total of 181/8, with Ryan Rickelton scoring a quickfire 33 off 15 balls. Dewald Brevis (38 off 18) and Connor Esterhuizen (39 off 26) played crucial knocks to ensure a strong finish. The bowling unit, led by Kagiso Rabada, dismantled the opposition's chase. Rabada’s 4/25, including a crucial diving catch to dismiss Aiden Markram. He was well supported by George Linde (2/20) and Rashid (1/19), as Sunrisers were bowled out for just 105.
