This incident comes into light while he is still serving a punishment for physically assaulting a child in December last year during a domestic game.

Bangladesh batsman Sabbir Rahman has found himself in troubled waters once again for allegedly abusing and threatening two fans on social media. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is set to investigate the matter and if found guilty, the cricketer might have to face extreme consequences for his actions this time around.
Sabbir is currently in West Indies and is involved in the ongoing three-match ODI series against the home team. The incident happened after the second match as the visitors failed to seal the match despite needing only 13 runs off the final two overs.
ESPN Cricinfo reports that they have obtained the screenshot of the message sent to one of the fans from the Facebook account of ‘Shabbir Rahaman Roman’ which has more than 90,000 followers and is believed to be the personal account of Sabbir Rahman. The message contains the foul and abusive language and the threat of physical harm.
Sabbir’s outburst was a result of a fan posting a sarcastic comment on his current form as he has only managed to muster 15 runs in two matches of the series so far. However, the account itself has been deactivated after the BCB was informed of the incident on Thursday evening according to Daily Star.
BCB chief comments
BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury has cleared that the board will take appropriate action on Sabbir Rahman after investigating the issue. The cricketer might have possibly breached the code of conduct with his actions.
‘Players, especially national players, are given definitive guidelines on how to behave with fans and on social media. They have been told that they must be very careful when interacting with the public on social media. Since it is out in the public and when it has come to the board’s knowledge, if such a breach has occurred it will be referred to the disciplinary committee and appropriate action taken,” he was quoted as saying by Daily Star.
