The Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, in his nonpareil career, amassed more international runs than anyone else in cricket history. Yet, it’s not just those umpteen numbers that set him apart. The legendary batsman always had two special elements in his repertoire alongside many others – courteousness and inventiveness. Although the 44-year old has retired from playing cricket, he still plays his typical ‘classy and innovative’ shots time and again. The only difference is that he has chosen social media as the pitch to play with his heart-warming messages.

The latest to be at the receiving end of Sachin’s trademark is the young left-arm unorthodox bowler Kuldeep Yadav. The extremely talented spinner celebrated his 24th birthday on December 14. On the special occasion, he was getting wishes from netizens across the country on Twitter. However, it’s the special message from the iconic batsman that stood out among them all.

Sachin tweets in Mandarin for Kuldeep

On Friday, Sachin posted a tweet so as to wish Kuldeep Yadav for his birthday. His tweets, if referring to a person, always had witty nuances related to the recipient. India’s former No.4 in Tests had an off-beat approach this time as well as he tweeted the birthday wishes in Mandarin, the official form of Chinese. The tweet reads, ” 生日快乐 Kuldeep Yadav!祝你未来有一个美好的一年 ” meaning ‘Happy birthday Kuldeep Yadav! Have a wonderful year ahead’.

The reason for choosing Mandarin is that left-arm unorthodox bowlers are also called ‘chinaman’ bowlers. The word ‘chinaman’ usually refers to a left-arm wrist spin bowler. Kuldeep is currently a part of India’s squad touring Australia.

His performances in the T20 series Down Under was mighty impressive but he is yet to get an opportunity in the ongoing Test series to roll his arm over. The youngster is currently ranked No.3 in both ODIs and T20s and has had a dream run with the ball in 2018. In the 50-over format, he has picked 44 wickets in this year alone at a stunning average of 17.78, making him the highest wicket-taker for India this year.
