Twitter was full of birthday wishes for the classy actor Aamir Khan, who turned 54 today. The one actor in Bollywood who is known for his substance more than anything else is the favourite Khan of many. Aamir is well known for how he carries his weight and how he gives his 100% into every character he plays on the screen. Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to wish the “perfectionist” actor on his birthday.

The star actor of groundbreaking films like Sarfarosh, Lagaan, Taare Zameen Par, and Dangal, celebrated his birthday today at his residence, in Bandra. Even though Aamir’s latest Bollywood project Thugs Of Hindostan, which release in November last year was disparaged by the critics, it succeeded in amassing a sizable gross at the box office. Khan took full responsibility for the film’s failure and said: “Audience came to watch the film on my name. So it was my responsibility. To that audience, I feel personally and fully responsible.”

Aamir will depart for Ireland wherein the Belfast Film Festival is taking place, later today on his birthday. His last project was his production debut named “Rubaru Roshni”, which was based on the themes of forgiveness and redemption citing real-life precedents. In the Hindi-drama, celebrities and people from all tiers of society were seen to express their views on being citizens of a free country.

Speaking about his next project, which is reportedly an adaptation of the Mahabharata, Aamir was quoted as saying, “I’ll start preparing for my next because I have to look slim and lean. There are two films (in consideration) and in both of them I have to look lean.”

Aamir’s reply to Tendulkar’s birthday wishes

Cricket legend Sachin a posted a picture of himself with Aamir, on Twitter and wrote: “Wishing my dear friend, Aamir Khan a very happy birthday! “A”, kya bolta tu?” The former Indian captain clubbed the actor’s digital signature i.e. “A” with one of the actor’s famous songs – Aati Kya Khandala from the movie Ghulam – in his birthday post.

Aamir Khan reciprocated with a similar and humourous reply, in Bollywood style. The actor wrote: “Thanks Sachin! Aata kya khandala? Love. a.”
