Sachin Tendulkar becomes the brand ambassador for Sony Ten

As the ambassador of Sony, he will be seen in a number of television commercials

Indian cricket may witness many heroes and legends, but the aura of Sachin Tendulkar conquers them all. Even after his retirement from the game, most sponsors keep running to him for deals. Hence it does not come as a surprise that Sony Pictures Network, that has launched a new group of sports channels, has made Sachin Tendulkar the brand ambassador for the same.

As the ambassador of Sony, the God of Cricket, as he is fondly called, will be seen in a number of television commercials. During the launch event, hosted by Harsha Bhogle, a promotional video by Sachin was seen, in which he talks about sports, its values, while also highlighting Sony’s latest tagline – “Go Beyond.”

As per insidesport.co, Sony acquired Ten Sports from Zee media for Rs. 2,600 crore. It will now be called Sony Ten and the new channels will be called Sony Ten 1, Sony Ten 1 HD, Sony Ten 2, Sony Ten 2 HD, Sony Ten 3 and Sony Ten 3 HD. The cluster of channels will also include the first Hindi Sports channels- Sony Ten 3 and Sony Ten 3 HD.

Tendukar’s wide range of second innings 

Days after his retirement in 2013, Tendulkar was made the brand ambassador of UNICEF South Asia. As a part of his work, Sachin was seen promoting hygiene and sanitation in South Asian countries.

“Thanks for allowing me to start this wonderful second innings of my life. I’m looking forward to being an ambassador for Unicef and serve to the best of my ability. This is an innings that is really really important to me, so I will try my best,” Tendulkar was quoted as saying by Times of India.

Ever since, he has been continually involved in off-field activities that range from promoting social welfare to adopting rural, underdeveloped villages and advertising a wide range of brands.
